SIR by Mario Testino

credit: Taschen

With a career spanning over three decades and work for publications like Vogue, V magazine and Vanity Fair under his belt, Mario Testino is easily mistaken solely for a fashion photographer. His latest coffee table book, SIR, proves otherwise.

Through over 300 archival photographs — including previously unpublished works — Testino explores masculinity in popular culture. From dandyism to brotherhood, Bowie to Beckham, the famed photographer’s portraits investigate a multifaceted notion of masculinity. Uniting art and intellectualism, Testino’s photographs are accompanied by an interview with editor Patrick Kinmonth and an essay by Pierre Borhan.

SIR is available to purchase via Taschen in a limited run of 1,000 numbered and signed copies.
