Donatella Versace for the new Givenchy campaign

A couple of months ago, creative director of Givenchy; Riccardo Tisci ,teased a picture of him and Donatella Versace with the caption: “So proud and honored to introduce my new ultimate icon: Donatella Versace…”.  The campaign is finally here!

The official ad campaign for Givenchy features Donatella standing strong and proud, in a what i looks to be a black and grey suit and in another she wears a corset, in black and white. Donatella does the ad to create a bold statment, and to change the fashion world. “I believe in breaking rules”, Versace writes in an Instagram post. She continues:  “Riccardo Tisci is extremely talented and above all my dear friend. We are family. I want to get rid of the old system, work together, support each other and make fashion a true global community.” Two of the largest fashion houses in business, teaming up together and supporting eachother, is a new direction in the fashion world.

Riccardo Tisci calls the ad “Givenchy Family”, having hes really good friend Donatella for the campaign, and breaking boundaries. “I approached my friend Donatella, because she represents what a Fashion Icon is to me.” Tisci continues: “We thought it was time to break boundaries and give a strong message about how to think Fashion.”

The campign was shot by famous photographer duo Mert & Marcus, and styled by the found of CR Fashion Book, Carine Roitfeld.
